Launched in the UK in 2015 and accepted in more than 250,000 shops, Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service by Apple Inc. It allows users to make payments using their iPhones (6 & 6 plus), Apple Watch, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 by using the near-field communication (NFC) feature embedded in the device. Apple Pay can be used to pay for goods and services by holding the device near a card reader, as you would a contactless debit card. You can also use Apple Pay to make single touch purchases within apps. Where charges are concerned , payments made using Apple Pay in shops are treated as ‘card present transactions’ while payments made using Apple Pay within apps are seen as ‘card not present transactions’ please be aware that the different types of transactions at attract differing fees from your Merchant Services Provider.
